We made it!!!!! In LA! Post game report tomorrow! Xoxoxoxo
How do you like them apples?
State inspection just confiscated our fruit. We can’t blame them for not wanting bugs in their crops (no sexy).
More importantly: WE’RE IN CALIFORNIA!

Very disgusting mission accomplished
We set out do this from the beginning. Redman saw this place on some late-night food network show like “xtreme gross pig outs”, told dilly about it, and it became a running joke. A friend even placed a bet that he’d cover Redmans flight home if she finished the quadruple bypass burger. Done and done. Except dilly didn’t manage to eat all 2 lbs of lard-soaked meat and Redman wussed out and didn’t dare try. Mad props to dilly for even taking a stab at it.
Now we’re getting the car washed ouside of Phoenix so we look nice and shiny as we make our final push into LA!

We Tern Mo
We’ve been fairly frugal about our lodging expenses so far and for $35 it was impossible to resist the Refrigerated Air Pool.

3000 miles? What miles?
Deep in the desert, driving through southern New Mexico looking for a good random place to pull off the interstate to look at the sky before checking into a cheap motel. Today we rolled along the Rio Grande and had dinner at a joint called Kiki’s in El Paso (of course we took pictures of the food) it was a family restaurant right across from a strip club. The food was ridiculously good, we tried one of not everything but pretty close. Well, we’re at border patrol now so more will have to come later. Hope they dont think there are any illegals mixed in with dilly’s ukeleles (one second later we’re clear! And have you seen the back of this thing? We just got lucky. Transcript: border patrol, checking out the No Sexy machine-”what year is this? Where did you get it?” dilly-”from a guy. Who works at a bar. That I go to”)

Gonna be lookin’ at this for a few hours
Breathe a sigh of relief, we did not get eaten up by wild dogs last night (though we did see an armidillo, which did not eat us either). Pretty sure we were the only people sleeping in the state park last night: kinda spooky, mostly fun. Sat out on a picnic table looking at a billion stars, and dilly worked on her new single “becca’s makin’ s’mores”. After a long nights sleep on some very very hard ground, we’re showered, caffienated and headed for El Paso. And looking at a whole lot of windmills.
Oh, and oil pumps. Windmills and oil pumps.

We’re going to have some visitors tonight
Hey cats. We’re settled into a campsite in Abilene State Park, TX. Dilly has the guitar (and trumpet) out, Redman has a completely justified fear of coyotes (howling!), the fire is burning and the warm beers are being sipped. Any excitement that unfolds will be revealed in the morning; time to put away the iphone and enjoy the Texas evening And by “excitement” we mean s’mores, songs and not being eaten by animals (please k thx.)
